Curry leaves are an herb, and they are not related to curry powder. To add to the confusion, curry leaf plants and curry plants are different too. Dried curry leaves keep well but are less flavorful than fresh ones. The flavor of the dried leaves is substantially milder than those of the fresh. To compensate, you will need to use about twice as much of the dried leaves to replace the fresh leaves in a recipe.
